Bottlebrush Peppergrass

Pepper Grass
Lepidium virginicum Linnaeus

"The flowers of this annual herb are minute, and thus Pepper Grass is identified by the flat, round, pungent fruits which sre 2-3 mm long. The fruits can be used to season salads and may have some value as food for wildlife. A common weed of roadsides, old fields, and waste areas throughout Florida and much of the United States" (Bell & Taylor, 1982, p. 97).
